Beginnings

Prayer is one of the most important activities of the Edgar Cayce “work”. The North American prayer outreach program goes back to 1931 when the A.R.E. was established. In that year, Edgar Cayce had a dream in which he saw certain individuals coming together for a special work — to pray and meditate for the healing of others.

These individuals formed the first Glad Helpers Prayer Group. The group received sixty-five readings from Edgar Cayce on how to accomplish spiritual healing through prayer and meditation. Although membership in the group has changed over the years, they continue to meet weekly in Virginia Beach to pray.

The Promise

A prediction was made in one reading given over 70 years ago:

...eventually, this group may hold — with even thousands of others — such a prayer for those who are sick or afflicted in any manner; and they to whom the will is given will receive that they seek through the efforts of those who were with Him.[Edgar Cayce Reading 294-127]

A Prophecy Fulfilled

Today, prayer group members all over the world receive monthly request lists, and help hundreds of individuals and families through the loving service of prayer. An ever growing number of individuals and prayer groups are joining in this prayer program, and Edgar Cayce Canada is one of them.

“Pray for one another, so that you may be healed.” —James 5:16

How can you get involved?

Become one of our prayer givers and an active prayer circle member. Co-create a daily circle with us to pray for individuals, situations, and those who have passed through “God’s other door”. Members commit to praying daily for those on the monthly prayer request list and for those who have passed on.

  • To sign on as an Active Prayer Circle Member, please get in touch with the Prayer Circle program leader by sending her a note from the Prayer Circle Contact page.
  • To request healing prayer for yourself, send a note to the Prayer Circle Leader from the Prayer Circle Contact page and your name will be placed on the prayer list which is circulated monthly. Please note that the prayer list consists of names only. We do not include details, as we trust the Universe to provide for the needs of each individual as we pray.
  • To request healing prayer for someone other than yourself, be mindful that the Readings advise that prayer must be at the request of the one who is seeking help. In the case of young children and those who are unable to make such a request personally, a close family member or friend may submit the request. All prayer is concluded with the words and intention “Thy Will, not mine.”
  • Requested names remain on the list for 30 days from receipt. Extensions can be requested on a month-to-month basis.
  • Light a Prayer Candle — Click on the candle at the right to prayerfully light a website candle in remembrance of a person or special event. Your candle will remain lit on the website for 48 hours.
  • Become one of our financial givers to support the Prayer Circle Network. This will help us continue to provide these services to those who seek healing prayer.
